best holiday nail polish

best christmas nail polish
winter favorite nail polish

Don ye now a festive nail varnish.  Fa la la la la la la la la...did you like my play on a classic Christmas carol there?  I thought you would.  The holidays are upon us and with parties and festivities a plenty now is the time to make sure our nails are in tip top shape.  Nothing says polished like a fresh coat of lacquer sans chipping.  Below are my top five favorite nail polish shades for this time of year.  I hope you enjoy my selection and please leave me a comment below letting me know your favorite nail polish of the moment!

  • Essie Shearling Darling - Described as a "rich ebony red" this is the quintessential holiday nail varnish.  I had been looking for years for the perfect holiday red and after picking out this shade for a manicure last year when I was back in New York I knew I had found it.  Please try this shade out, I know you will love it as much as I do!
  • Nails Inc. Porchester Square - A blogger favorite, this offering from Nails Inc. is the ideal fall neutral.  Is it grey or mauve or tan??  Who's to say, but it's a beauty nonetheless.  This shade used to be so hard to find, but I have recently seen it stocked at Ulta and Sephora if you're interested in giving it a go.
  • Essie Maximillian Strasse Her - This is one of the most unique polishes I own and a shade I never would've picked up had I not seen it gracing the fingers of London based blogger Vivianna Does Makeup.  It's a neutral toned pale green that looks scary in the bottle, but I swear once painted on the nails produces perfection.
  • CND Vinylux Powder My Nose - This has to be one of my top beauty discoveries this year.  I love it that much.  By far the best nude nail polish I have ever used, the color payoff is divine and the hue ideal for gals with fair skin like mine.  This easily lasts on my nails for a week without chipping and applies like a dream.
  • Essie Ladylike - Such a wearable mauvey-pink this neutral offering from Essie could easily be worn all year round.  I love wearing a this shade this time of year because it seriously goes with everything and with holiday parties coming up I need a nail varnish shade that can match my ugly Christmas sweater and go with a sequin sheath.  You feel me?  Versatility is key.

xoxo Nicole
