top drugstore beauty buys

So we all want to save money on our quest to expand our beauty arsenal.  And what better way than hitting the drugstore to scoop up some great cosmetic finds.  The drugstore makeup selection can be very hit or miss, but sometimes you come across a gem that puts even its high end counterparts to shame.  There's nothing more joyous than finding an amazing product and then learning it's only $5! (It really is the small things in life…)  Today I'm sharing my top eight drugstore beauty finds, and these are products that hold heavy rotation in my daily makeup routine.  If you're itching to try some new products, but don't want to break the bank, definitely give these items a go.  Keep reading to find out my picks and I promise you won't be disappointed!!

top drugstore eyeshadows

- Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow -
Pigmented, creamy, and oh so long lasting you would probably think I'm talking about the infamous MAC paint pots, but no I'm talking about their $7 dupe.  These crease free cream shadows are so versatile and I love using them as a base for a sheer wash of color or layering with other eye products.  The Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows come in an amazing array of shades (my favorites are Inked in Pink and Tough as Taupe) and the best part is no eye primer is needed with these bad boys. They seriously stay alllll day.

- L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow -
Another eyeshadow favorite is the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows.  I don’t know what kind of magic L’Oreal is sprinkling into these, but they have knocked it out of the park with this offering.  Drugstore eyeshadows often lack pigmentation and blendability, but I was thrilled to find that was not the case here. This pressed pigment formula is so creamy and pigmented your lids will wonder where this shadow was all their life.  The product comes in a wide color range variety, last time I checked there were 21 shades, and these shadows are a bargain at $8 a piece. (Check out my full review and application tips HERE.)

- Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner -
This little pot is an amazing dupe for the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner and at a fraction of the price.  The budge proof formula is offered in five shades, retails for $9.95, and comes with a brush for easy application.  The vibrant and pigmented color is such a nice change from other drugstore eyeliners I have used that flake and fade throughout the day.  Not this bad boy.  I have been so impressed by the high quality and longevity of this product, and you need such a little bit that a pot of this would literally last you a lifetime.
top drugstore beauty buys

- Revlon Color Stay Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain -
Where do I even begin of my love for this product?? By far my favorite lip product at the drugstore, this lip crayon can do no wrong in my book.  They have matte, gloss, and satin varieties and retailing for only $7 come in so many amazing shades. (Three of my favorites being Honey, Audacious and Demure).  This product is pigmented, doesn't feather or bleed on the lips, has a pleasant minty scent, and provides vibrant and long lasting color.  If you are not on the Revlon Colorstay Balm Stain train you need to jump on.

- Real Techniques Brushes -
The Real Technique brushes are in my opinion the best makeup brushes you will find at the drugstore and are comparable and sometimes surpassing in quality to high-end brushes.  I never met a Real Techniques brush I didn’t like and the quality is impeccable.  The hairs are super soft, they don’t soak up product, and you don’t have any of that annoying shedding you sometimes find with cheaper brushes.  Featured here is their contour brush which is amazeballs, but some other favorites are their blush brush, which I wrote a full review on HERE, their buffing brush, and stippling brush.  Most RT brushes retail between $7-$10.

- Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer -
After hearing about this concealer from YouTubers, magazines, and beauty bloggers alike I finally caved and purchased my own last year to see what all the buzz was about.  Well let me tell ya, there was honey in that pot….the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is probably the best blending concealer I have ever used.  It just melts into the skin so seamlessly and looks natural while brightening the under eye area.  This find retails for around $7 and I use the ‘Light’ shade, they also offer a ‘Brightening’ shade which is lovely.

top drugstore face powders

- Milani Baked Powder Blush -
I have had the worst luck with drugstore blushes, they lack pigmentation, chalky, difficult to blend on the skin…the list goes on and on.  But all that changed when I was introduced to the Milani Baked Powder Blushes.  Oh my god, these are fantastic! I swear I just tap my brush in the product and I'm left with the perfect amount of product to liven up my cheeks.  And it doesn’t hurt that they blend like a dream, have a gorgeous sheen, and leave your face glowing.  J.Lo say what??  The Milani Baked Power Blushes come in six shades, retail for $7.75, and featured here is my all time favorite hue Luminoso.

- Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder -
And last, but not least I know I have raved on and on about the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, but I couldn't help but mention it again here.  This is an amazing setting powder and I love its ability to mattify shine and oils on the face while still leaving me looking natural.  My favorite shade is translucent and a tin of this will last me six months at least.  The packaging doesn't pull at my heartstrings, but at $4 I'll let the shortcoming slide.  (Check out my full review HERE.)

If you purchased one of each of these products the total would amount to $58. That's like the price of two lip glosses at Sephora!!  Talk about a steal.  I love high end makeup as much as the next girl, but when you find an amazing product at the drugstore it's like hitting the jackpot.  I hope you enjoyed this post and when shopping for drugstore makeup don't forget to utilize all coupons and reward programs you can.  I know CVS and Walgreens has an amazing rewards program, and there is always a $3.50 off coupon at Ulta you can use on drugstore makeup.  What is your favorite product from the drugstore?? Let me know in the comments below!!

xoxo Nicole
