PRODUCT EMPTIES...What would I repurchase?

Product Empties Review

So this is the post where I basically share with you my trash.  Now I know you're all chomping at the bit to rummage through the dumpster with me, but in all seriousness I love reading these posts from other bloggers because I feel like when someone completely finishes a product they can really provide a comprehensive and honest review on it.  So in today's post I hope to do just that and share with you guys which items I would repurchase and which ones I would skip.  So buckle up, we're going through some trash...

Product Reviews Face Wash

So let's just get the flops out of the way first thing.   Got this Mitchell and Peach Hand Cream in my Ipsy bag.  The lotion was watery in consistency, not at all moisturizing, and the scent so off-putting.  Now moving on from that glowing review... is my empty tube of Too Faced Shadow Insurance.  I loved this product at first, but after about six months it just stopped working.  I don't know if it went bad or what, but it was wasn't keeping my eyeshadow in place like it used to and this has never happened with my other eye primers.  Bummer.  Next is this Up & Up Deep Cream Cleanser from Target.  This was supposed to be a dupe for the Clean and Clear  Creamy Face wash.  Didn't hate it, and for $3 I can't complain, but I much prefer my Body Shop Tea Tree Creamy Cleanser.   This Lush Hair Conditioner called Veganese was ok, but I didn't find it very moisturizing.  Smelled lovely, but I think they make much better hair conditioners if you're in the market for one.  And last, but not least for the duds was the Fresh Sugar Advance Therapy Lip Treatment.  I liked this, but didn't find it crazy moisturizing or repairing on the lips as advertised.  It also felt like it sat on top of my lips in a waxy layer instead of sinking in and moisturizing.  At $25 a tube, I don't think this works any better than good 'ol Vaseline or one of my favorites Smith's Rosebud Salve.

Products Would Repurchase

And now onto the good stuff.  I would gladly repurchase any of these items and some of them I already have.  These are products that when you reach the bottom a silent tear emanates as you ponder how life will go on without them.  So first up is the Josie Maran Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment.  I adored this product.  It provided amazing hydration, worked well under makeup and left my skin with a gorgeous glow.  I was so sad when this was gone, but at $56 a bottle it's pricey, so I'm saving up to purchase another one.  (If you want to know more about this product you can check out my post HERE.)  The next two products I didn't necessarily use up, but they got icky and it was their time to go.  First is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge which I loved and is a great dupe for the Beauty Blender.  Second is the Essie Protein Base Coat.  I loved using this under polish and had no complaints, but after having it for over a year it started to get clumpy and gross.  I would definitely recommend both products and would purchase again.

Next is the Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Instant Bodifier Dry Shampoo.  This product is a rock star and at only $5 it's one of the best dry shampoos I have used.  It doesn't leave a white reside, the nozzle sprays evenly and finely mists your hair, and it gives such amazing volume.  I ran out of this recently and went to every drugstore and Target in the Tampa area and could not find it anywhere.  The only place I have been able to find this product is on Amazon.  (I've already ordered three bottles, the obsession is real.)  I don't know if it's discontinued or what, but has anyone seen this in stores?  Garnier Fructis, what are you trying to do to me?!  And last, but not least is another hand cream I got in my Ipsy bag, the Ayres Patagonia Body Butter.  This smelled heavenly and provided great hydration, would highly recommend.

Wheww, that is everything.  It feels great to finish products sometimes.  Not so much the products you adore, but with so many items lying round that I still want to try I feel a sense of accomplishment getting to the bottom of an item.  Hey, I'm not a quitter.  If you liked this type of post and would like to see more product empties on the blog please let me know in the comments below.  I hope you all had an amazing weekend and Happy Monday!

  1. I love this! I do this sometimes too, where I refuse to bail on a product until it's gone, for better or worse (the closest I'll ever come to making a full commitment to something). I'm doing this right now with one of my hair products. I can't tell if I love it or hate it or what I would buy next, but I'm doggedly hanging in there.

    1. Haha, I totally feel you! Even if I don't love a product sometimes I just want to finish it so I'm not being wasteful. And you and your hair products!! You crack me up Ms. Brown, I feel like you will always be on the hunt for the perfect curl cream.
