THE FIVE PRODUCT FACE

Minimalist Makeup

Minimal Makeup

On mornings when I'm running late and trying to rush out the door there's no way I have time for a full-face makeup routine.  The easier and quicker the better.  Recently Allison Anderson did a post on her five product face and I was inspired to do my own spin on the concept.  You can check out her awesome blog and post here.  Now narrowing down my selection to only five products was rough, but these five I absolutely adore and can't imagine doing my makeup without.  Now keep in mind this is five products, tools not included.  (That would be just impossible!)  This a super simple look that will get you out the door in under five minutes feeling polished and put together.  I like wearing this foolproof look to work or running errands so I can look somewhat presentable.  And hey you never know, I could meet my future husband at Target picking out light bulbs, I need to be prepared and have some mascara on. So read on to find out my picks for a five product face…

1. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment in Light  If you are an avid blog reader you have probably heard about this concealer a million times.  But hey, it lives up to the hype!  The application is a breeze with the sponge tip applicator and I just draw two upside down triangles under my eyes and blend with my fingertips.  This provides great coverage and doesn't crease on me throughout the day.

2. Bare Minerals Original Foundation in Light
I have tried so many foundations over the years, but always come back to Bare Minerals.  The coverage is on the lighter side, but it's easy to apply, looks very natural on the skin, and it doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup.  I love to buff this on with my ELF Kabuki brush.

3. Benefit Cosmetics Brow Zings Medium As you can see by the picture above this product is well loved. This has been my ride or die product for years and it's probably about time I get a replacement.  This won't give you the look of a sharp airbrushed brow, but it's quick and easy and gets the job done.  The kit comes with two mini brushes and includes a brow powder and wax to set those arches in place all day.

4. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara I am a big fan of this mascara and it does a great job of separating and lengthening my lashes without clumping.  It stays on all day without flaking and comes right off with my face wash at night, no eye makeup remover needed.

5. Nivea A Kiss of Cherry Lip Care I am obsessed with this stuff!  I picked it up at Ulta Cosmetics on a whim a couple years pack and it has been a staple in my handbag ever since.  It's moisturizing and provides a flattering sheer red tint.  It's great for days when I'm wearing zero or minimal makeup and want my lips to have some natural color.  I can't rave about this stuff enough, and it's $3.

five product face

Let me know in the comments below what products you would use for your five product face.  What would you add or what could you do without?  I hope you all are having a wonderful week and it has definitely cooled down in Florida as of late.  (And by cool I mean low 50’s)  I have finally been able to wear some of my dresses with tights and scarves to work, and it has felt great to bust out some of my winter wear.  Now I won’t be sporting my parka anytime soon, but it is nice to have some cooler weather before the sweltering heat rolls in.  Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll see you back on Friday for my Friday Favorite!  It's a good one!!

  1. I use the same amount of daily products, however I would definitely add eyeshadow. I just can't put on mascara w/o eyeshadow haha

  4. Lovely! Thank you for the tip on the Nivea, would not have thought to buy that and am not thrilled with my Burt's Bees these days. Winter is taking its toll.
PS realized that in those pics you look a lot like Sarah Paulson...
