THE BEST EYESHADOW PRIMER YOU’LL FIND AT THE DRUGSTORE

L'Oreal Eyelid Primer
Is eyeshadow primer a necessity?  For me it is.  Being graced with the oily eyelids I have, if I don’t use a primer my shadow is all but nonexistent by lunch.  A couple years back I discovered Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and it was like the heavens had opened…cue the doves and choir.  It made such an outstanding impact on my eye looks and my eyeshadow would stay in place, looking vibrant ALL DAY LONG.  Now since I’m done raving about my first true love in the form of an eyeshadow primer, I’ll move on to my latest discovery.  Because while Urban Decay’s Primer Potion is lovely, it’s expensive!  So I have found for you a drugstore dupe that is just as amazing at less than half the price.  Enter the fabulous L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer, retailing for only $6.49! This product promises to extend eyeshadow wear, prevent creasing, and provide a neutral base to enhance the vibrancy of any eye products you apply.   This all-star can be found at Ulta, Amazon, or any drugstore and is the best eyeshadow primer I have used at this price point.  Packaged in this slim tube with a doe foot applicator, to use I dab three little dots on each eyelid and blend up to my brow bone and then wait a minute or so for the primer to dry before applying shadow. I also love that this a nude color and find myself wearing it even on days I don’t wear eyeshadow to cover up veins and discolorations on my eyelids making me appear more awake.  And this blends like a dream…in the picture below I swatched the L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer on the right and did another swatch on the left that I blended in.  Can you even see it?  That’s how natural and seamlessly this product blends into the skin.

After months of using this there is really nothing that I dislike about this product.  And that is saying something being the harsh critic that I am.  I hope you love this primer as much as I do and I get so excited when I'm able to replace one of my beloved high end products with a great dupe at the drug store.  All that money saved could be going towards more shoes, am I right?!  I hope you all had a lovely weekend and had a blast watching the Super Bowl last night! (Or did what I did, online shopped on my laptop while pretending I was watching.)  Let me know in the comments below if you have tried this product, or if there are any other eyeshadow primers you would recommend?

  1. Ooh I should try this! I also cannot not use an eyeshadow primer, I've been blessed with oily lids too, so I've always used a primer from Too Faced. An inexpensive alternative would be awesome!

  2. Ever since UD's Primer Potion made my eyelids go all flaky and red I've always avoided eye-shadow primer :( I really need to use one though and this looks so nice and inexpensive! I hope it works!

  6. Yes I love this primer! I splurged during a recent sephora sale and got the Urban Decay primer potion, but otherwise I've always gone with this one!
